Why isn't the photo showing up on preview?
Is it because I used up 98% of brain cell capacity just registering on flicker and uploading pictures?

What I did: Copied URL from Flicker, came here, hit Img button. Then the cursor showed up between the [img]and[/img] and I pasted.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Maybe I don't know what a URL is. Looked it up ... don't get it.

Does it have the http and/or the www in it?

One more thought: what kind of setting do I have to have in flicker regarding who can see my photos? Yeah, yeah ... I'm WAY out of experience zone.

That is correct, however I do not see where you tried to do this? So I can offer a suggestion as to what may be wrong.

Links do need the "http://" and my or may not need a "www" depending on how the website they are hosted on is set up. (Mine should work either way, though some sites still must have the "www")

Same URL pasted as text. No [something] [something] tags, and yet on preview it too turns blue and becomes a clickable link on my system.

Hi William, thanks for your help. I'm a slow learner in some areas. Just now when I pasted, the preview showed the URL but when I posted it ... the URL was gone and instead there was a little box with red colors that said "Image" but no photo.

I edited and removed last nights attempts because you could not click on the URL like you can click on a link, but I was able to copy and paste the address and that took me to my flicker page. Well, since I don't really 'get' flicker yet ... not sure I want people going there.

I'm stumped but hey ... at least I got an image this time, even if it was a little box that said "Image" ... : )

... wondering, our bat house photos were taken with a regular camera (35mm?) and not a digital camera. Could this be part of the problem?

I switched to photobucket and now it's working but the photo is SO big. Hmmm. Anyway, this is the first bat house and if you scroll down you can see the guano on the ledge. Spouse loves that. : )

Indeed! Especially with bat houses

BTW, flatbed scanners, which are normally used to scan pictures or documents make a better camera than most cameras. Pick up one at a yard sale or thrift store for $5 and you will not even have to worry about scratching the glass.

Now if I could just find some tiny little sunglasses so I can scan live critters
