Great photos and I really like the looks of the bat houses. The next one I build will be copied from yours for appearance. Someone is good at woodworking.
Also they must have been heavy, so putting them up alone must have been quite a chore.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the pictures and also look of our bat houses. Frank, I'll pass your comments on to the builder. She'll be pleased.

The bat houses are maybe 20-30 pounds. The way spouse got them mounted was to mark on side of our house where the screws would go. Then he put the screws partway into the bat house. He had the ladder at a a slant so he was able to slide the bat house up the ladder and when he got it to the top, he rested the bat house on the top of the ladder. He says the tricky part was holding the bat house with one hand while he secured one screw. After that it was easy.

We sat in the driveway to watch the bats leave last night. Couldn't actually see the bat house from that location but this new view was quite entertaining. For some reason a number of the exiting bats fly low over our driveway so we were able to get a better idea of their actual size. That view plus guano size - pretty sure they are big browns. We also got to see one bat catch some kind of huge bug in the air. Quite an acrobatic feat!
