tree mounting

Postby another eagle scout » Fri Jun 04, 2010 5:48 pm

I'm a life scout trying to make eagle, and bat houses seemed a good project, but i can't for the life of me, find a way to mount it on a tree. Any help? Pictures would be great, along with some instruction.

You should use a dead tree, or one that has a long clear section of trunk. Bats won't use the house if there are branches that shade the house or branches near the bottom of the house which predators (owls, hawks) can sit on.

Tree rigging is the process of mounting up equipment and gear on the tree to make it easy for anyone to climb up a tree.
