Is this a bat, or 2?

Postby Msattitude1185 » Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:12 pm

The other night my mom and I thought that a bird had nestled in the corner of our covered carport to get out of the rain, it was about dusk. Last night we thought that the bird had made a nest in the corner but my mom noticed that it looked like it was wrapped around the corner not just sitting on the edge. This morning she went to see about the nest and it was gone. Now at about 9:30pm we noticed it was back. So could the picture below be a bat or 2?

PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT BELOW....

its not a very good pic because it was dark and I didnt want to get too close, hopefully u will be able to tell or not.

Thanks

My opinion is that it does not appear to be bats, but two birds with their tails hanging down. I'll be anxious to see what others think. Thanks for posting the photo on the forum.

Can't be sure but I'd rule out bats and lean towards birds too.

Those are wrens night roosting. I've seen house wrens in that posture in similar corners are stuffed partway into a hole in a porch overhang. Enjoy them!
