Bats will hang out in daylight if the bat house is too hot. Makes me think a dark interior is not required by little brown bats.

Great shot! My bats vacated back in June and haven't come back. We lost a lake 500' away, and may be too dry here. So dry grass is dying. Maybe they got too hot? That is a great picture. I have never seen that before! Randy In Haughton,La

Randy, you need to put up a white summer house with lots of ventilation. The ambient temperatures alone are just too hot
in La. without providing dark houses and sun. I have plans to put me up a summer house this winter so that the bats will stay here all summer. I have at least 50 off somewhere right now because of the heat and parasites I think. The other 100 or so just came back since we are out of day after day of mid 90s. I have plans also for a spring and fall house. I have a winter house already which has been used .
