relocation help

Postby daveb » Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:46 pm

Hi- We have bats in our attic in Torrington, CT and they are making a lot of poop and I want to relocate without hurting the little guys. I've read to get a bat house for them to relocate to before putting on the one way door or sealing up after they leave at night. My Dad doesn't want to put the bat house on the side of the house and the only other alternative is a tall metal pole but it's exposed. My question is - will the bats even consider it given they are warm blooded and this bat house is not cozy like our attic and they will be without heat in the New England winter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Dave

If you browse through this forum you will find answers to all your questions.......If you have a lot of bats in your attic they most likely are little brown bats.........they hibernate in caves during winter so the use of a bat house in winter is not an issue.......

Mounting your bat house on a pole should be fine as long as it has a fair amount of exposure to the sun.......the more sun the better.......
