Does the pole 4x4 used to mount the bat house need one?

Skyhigh82 a predator guard would be a valuable addition to your bat house setup. Raccoons and squirrels will climb and investigate about anything and although they would unlikely be able to get to the bats the disturbance could cause a problem. Rat snakes are also great climbers and could possibly get to any bats for a meal. A very good question and I would install a predator guard. I use them myself.
