So I'm considering getting this wireless night vision security camera I found for mounting on my bat house post to see the little guys. It seems pretty cool as it has a little hand held portable monitor or the receiver can be plugged into a tv. Figured this way if we have a party and I rope off the area around the bat house I can still show people the accupants. And of course my fiance and I would be far more likely to resist the urge to pester them by standing beneath their home and peering in with a flashlight! Wondering however, if the night vision LED's that come on when it gets dark will bother them though. Anyone have any insight on this? I see a lot of night vision videos of bats on the net.

My gut feeling is no, it won't bother them.......mine seem to get used to me over a period of time......

If you get this set up, I hope you'll keep us advised on the success of it. I have so many neighbors interested in our bat houses, and they all love the bug free evenings we now enjoy, that they are constantly coming over to watch them emerge in the evening. It would be great to be able to show them video clips of them.

As a side note, we have a dusk-to-dawn night light on the garage (18’ off the ground) that I see bats under every night looking for moths and other night-flying insects. They don’t seem bothered at all by the brightness of the light.
