Hello I am new here but have been lurking. First thank you all for a great informative forum.I have built a few bat houses over the years, my main reason for posting is that I haven't found anyone mention what I do to sanded board used for bat house baffle's. For example recently I moved and left my bat house's mounted at my old house (just couldn't leave the bat's there homeless) well just so happen's the previous owner of my new place left behind sanded lumber in the building at the back of my property perfect for a couple good bat house's except it's sanded. I just carefully use my pressure washer against the sanded wood then quickly dry in the sun . Try it out on a piece of scrap wood the next time your pressure washing,It's not so good on the knotty sections of wood but allot faster than cutting grooves.I never bothered trying on plywood since I don't use It for baffle's.
