Nate, I was just reading your post about using the 3/8" plywood for baffles. I know Kent does not like plywood but I think after it ages the emissions from it are low. And the thing is, with thinner, lighter baffles you can really get a lot of roosting space in a small bat house. This is a big advantage in an area location where you have over crowding. It also makes mounting easier and more safe. I did have overcrowding at 2 maternity locations this past year. I am thinking of building a few boxes using 1/4" luan, with finished baffle widths of 12" - 14". I will attach pet mesh to the baffles with liquid nail. I have had very good luck with liquid nail for gluing down the mesh. I may use 2" wood for the sides and top to compensate for low thermal storage of the thin baffles. I'm thinking I can build a nice 4 or 5 crevice box about 32" tall that weighs about 20lbs.
