Yes there are bats nearly everywhere especially where one is located within a 1/4 mile of year round water. Bats will also live/roost miles from water sources. Nursery houses or bat houses which are larger are best.
www.batcon.org has bat approved bat houses which have been proven to work with high success. Depending on the species, the most abundant insect eating bats in North America choose to hibernate/overwinter in caves mines culverts etc. The big brown bat often will hibernate in a building or home often in walls ceilings chimneys etc where it finds the right hibernating temperature. What water source do you have nearby. If you have a lot of mosquitos you have water nearby. Is it salt marsh or do you have year round freshwater and if so how large is the source
