For the last two summers my father has had a bat living in his garage. I am guessing only one due to the small amount of guano. It is roosting near the gable end vent of the garage so we are guessing that is the point of entry. The garage is not sealed up good so we are assuming if we put screen over the vent he would just come in some other way. I was looking at some web site that the guy has designed houses that go over the gable vents. The problem is my mother does not want a huge number of bats in some bat house. She is uneducated on the topic but she is the boss and won't change her ways. At this point in the year the bat has returned so what would be the best way to handle this. The garage has vinyl siding and a metal roof. The end the bat uses faces east and gets good sun. I know the specs that Batcon recommends but what is the smallest size house he could put on his garage and expect the bat to use it. Also if we decide to go that route should be get everything ready and wait for the bat to come out one night and hang it or what?
