Thanks! That particular bat house is now on its way to Austen Texas.
Got to meet Jim Kennedy of BCI today (Great guy!) at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Georgia. Both speakers were excellent, however the talks were aimed at cavers so might have been a bit confusing at times to someone unfamiliar with the terminology.
After the talks Jim and a few others came out and looked at a few of my bat houses. He seemed totally unconcerned with a couple of cosmetic issues which have been driving me bonkers. Not particularly enthused with the French cleat in the back since he feels it limits mounting options. We discussed mold in inserts which are a very versatile way to add metal threads to plastic parts. Also easy to blank off when unneeded since the holes will be out of site on the back side of the finished bat house.
He also had a few more suggestions and ideas, several of which were similar to but also slightly different than ideas I have previously had. For example, we both share the dream of a "no wood" bat house. Think he was impressed over all especially after he asked to stand on a bat house shell (no wooden baffles inside) in the parking lot. It survived

He also graciously offered to hand carry my certification unit back to BCI saving me almost $40 in shipping costs!
All in all a great day.
