Found a bat that seems sick, Help!

We found a bat today, just hanging from our fence:

After about ten minutes, it climbed (shakily)to the top of the fence, then appeared to slip and fall. It glided about 30 feet, then landed in the grass:

The poor critter then struggled across the lawn until it came to an open area, where it tried to stick its head under a leaf and then stopped moving:

I have a little experience with bats from my spelunking days, so I put on my welding gloves & picked it up:

It has not shown any inclination to move (my hand was nice and warm, I guess), so we put the poor thing in a shoebox outside with the lid propped open. It just sits in there, in the same position as it was when placed there. It doesn't move, but puts out a barrage of squeaks if the box or anything in it is moved. I'm thinking we should make some bug paste to help it through the night. Any advice?

I'm guessing it's a pup............they've just recently started flying and often end up on the ground...........if it seems uninjured you can just place it on a tree trunk and it will climb up higher and roost for the rest of the day........I have found them like this several times..............there is also a network of bat rehabbers on yahoo that could give you more info..........they are very knowledgable............
