I've been watching my little brown and big brown maternity colonies here at home closely this summer to see exactly when the pups first started to fly. The big brown pups started flying approx. July 15th.

The little brown pups started flying on either July 19th or 20th. I am going to watch this each year to see if the date stays roughly the same each year or if it changes maybe due to weather or other factors.
