First bat sign

Postby clayman » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:00 pm

Hello everyone,

There is some evidence of a bat in my newly mounted house here in central Texas. The house has been up about three weeks. My 86 year old neighbor and I are both pretty excited. She actually found the droppings first.

I hope to get some photos tonight and spend a little time watching for the evening flight. I'll post a picture soon if anything does show up.

My house took years or so I think. I saw droppings on the top of the 4*4 post and on the ground. Put something under the opening where they roost. You should see droppings. Also, at 6:45 or when it is getting dark get a digital camera and take a picture from directly underneath looking straight up into the chambers. Use the flash. Zoom a little. You can then go look at them. Needs to be a dark sky -but before they fly out. Go look at my shot of 111 came out. You will see the time of day and shot. I didn't think I had any-it was just to cold for them to come out few weeks ago...Randy Haughton,La
