Hi folks, I am Brazilian (my english is not very good) and study bats in Brazil, one of my jobs is to build a house for bats but am having trouble. The houses built of bats that are not occupied by bats but by wasps.
Could you help me with the material I use to build a home for bats?

Hello Colombo,
Your English is 100% better than my Portuguese. What species of bats are you building houses for? Spaces between
chambers greater than .75 inch (19.05 mm) may attract wasps.

Hello, excuse the delay in responding.

I built my home base of bats taking videos and published works, but these do not provide information specific to an independent species.

My house has bat has a 70 cm long by 50 cm in width and height of 20 cm and dividing the interior spaces with two leaves and the top 10cm of space for a female. I used to contrurir pine, and painted the exterior for greater durability.

I have a kind of focused work, all I need are verpertilionidae. The only reference to bats that I met other house was in countries with temperate climates, it might influence in my bat house (but this is another step in the research), the time necessary to make this my home for bats colonize bats.

Look at the small bat house plans from PA. Change all dimensions to metric. A house this size would be fine for a small colony. Build several if you need more space for bats. The Florida photos will give you an idea of how it would look.
