The highs are in the 60s and lows in the 40s. My bat activity has slowed down. Some bats have left, no pups yet either. Summer is supposed to come back next
Thursday. I don't know what this cold spell will do, but do know I have lost almost half of my bats in the last two weeks. The bats seem to be able to predict weather. Anyone else have pups yet besides Randy in LA?
Checking my 2010 calendar, I saw my first two bat pups on May 21. I may not be behind schedule after all but this weather is unusual.

The last two days here in central Illinois has been in the lower 50s, barely.
And it rained for them two days also

This is the latest we have ever been without bats. The weather has stayed cool and wet for the most part. We did have a few big browns, but they only stayed a few days and then left again. We don't have any Purple Martins yet, either. I am anxious for Spring to truly arrive, and the bat houses to get fully populated again. Usually we start seeing pups the 1st week of June, so the bats will have to get here soon.
