Bat Marketing?

Postby Cheryl » Tue Jan 20, 2009 7:39 pm

I've been wanting to do this for a long time... not to make money (although a little of that would be nice), but to get the word out about bats.

I'm ONLY just getting started, so the designs you see here are limited and have plenty of room for improvement. I'd REALLY like your feedback on what you like about designs, what you don't like, what you'd like to see, etc.

My "store" is very limited right now, the only bat design I have is my Mexican Free-tail stencil I made by tracing a photograph I took back in September '08...

Here is my link: http://www.cafepress.com/LomaSerena ...I really would appreciate your thoughts.

Cheryl, those look great! I suppose you could always add a greater variety of silhouettes, maybe different colors......I will definitely consider buying some of your merchandise........

One thing I am looking for are vinyl bat silhouette stickers I could apply to a metal bat box. I do stencil some bat silhouettes with spray paint but it would be so much easier to just put on a sticker. Thanks for posting!

Hey instead of just one mosquito you should have 1,200 mosquitoes - that would really get the point across! And it would be accurate as well - http://www.batcon.org/news2/scripts/art ... icleID=119

Nice design, keep up the good work.

I would love to make just a bat-shaped sticker, but that would involve making a special die. I don't have the luxury. I will think on that, though..... I might get other ideas along those lines. Thanks for the suggestion.

Seriously! If I could make a design with a zillion mosquitoes, I would!! The only reason I used *one* mosquito is that we can recognize it! LOL

I bought a bumper sticker from myself yesterday. That is the main reason I created the account -- simply because I wanted a single bumper sticker!

I would be interested in buying quite a few stickers if they were 2" in diameter or smaller. I have to wear a hardhat for my carreer, me and many of my Union brothers (and a few sisters) would definately put a bat sticker on our hardhats. Just the bat stencil or the "bat= less mosquitoes" would be awesome in a slightly smaller size.

I'll look into that option. The cafepress rectangular stickers are, sadly, 3 x 5in. However, the graphic itself doesn't take up that much space, and can be trimmed...

I can easily reduce the size of the image on the 3x5 sticker so that it can be trimmed to fit. OR, I can fit four graphics per one sticker, to cut with scissors, giving you four smaller images at less than 1.5 x 2.5in per image -- what a $$ deal, huh!

The only drawback with the full 'equation' being, the mosquito will be a lot harder to see.... so maybe just the stencil, then?

I will see what I can do.

OK, try this!! http://www.cafepress.com/LomaSerena.350134443

I'm excited about that. I touched up both the bat and the mosquito: the mosquito is much more visible; the bat is different species (free-hand, not sure exactly what species, lol).

I've only made the change to the 10-pack 3x5 rectangle vinyl stickers... so, at 4 images each, that's 40 smaller stickers. If you want me to apply the changes to the 50-pack, let me know.

PS - the round lapel stickers are only paper, not vinyl, I don't think those would look good for very long on a hard hat.

Cheryl, some of your stickers are vinyl? I wonder how they would hold up outside?

The stickers are made out of bumper-sticker vinyl. I would expect most of them would last a year or two, depending on what they were stuck to, and what kind of weather they got.
