All plastic house

Postby William Bagwell » Sat Feb 04, 2012 9:59 am

Have been working on this off and on for a long time. Finally got it finished yesterday so I thought I would stick up a quick web page. And post a few more pictures here with greater detail.

This one is mainly for Frank since he has two of my prototype shells and will need to deal with this same problem. Shows why I need to lose the reverse band in the center of the bat house. Glad that only the initial 19 prototypes will need this time consuming kludge.

This shows the sequence I used to cut the long slots. Would obviously have hunted for my dado blade if I had been making a bunch of side rails at once. Wider slots for wooden baffles are best cut with a router and a table with twin routers is on my wish list... Hope to get this all plastic house and a plastic shell with more traditional wooden baffles up soon.

Thanks for sharing William. That box will hold a lot of bats. Very nice results from all your hard work and expense. I can guarantee that mine won't look anything near as good as yours. I need a few more items and I will be set to begin my baffle installation.

Plastic hen houses will not require planning permission. Most hen housing made from recycled plastic will not require any building at all.
