Bat House Forum

I took only one photo of each house tonight for fear of running off my newly arrived bats off. Total count was 17.
Photo of bats was not too good but here it is: A woodpecker has pulled the screening and damaged it while trying to gain entrance.
I ran it off several times, but it was sneaky and got up in the mornings before I did. Looks like 15 at least in this house a couple of singles in two others. A few direct hits. Bat persons like to see this stuff early in March.

I am now covered in bats to coin a phrase. Two old houses contain close to a hundred. In addition two of my new cedar houses have one small dark bat each.
I don't know what they are.

Those are always great sights for bat house enthusiasts Frank! It will be a couple months before I see guano like that!

Today was cloudy and chilly in the 50 degree F range. I went out at 7PM and took a few photos. The store bought three chamber is stacked full of little browns and some freetails. There are two bats in the large cedar bat house I built this winter. Here are a couple of photos I took.
