Started on a three chamber bat house today for next year's bats.

Three chambers with one for pups. One chamber has a calked ceiling with a compartment about 11 inches high which is calked to be air tight at the top. The plan is to capture heat and no drafts for the pups. The other two chambers are loose and have plenty of ventilation I think. I left openings in the baffles so the bats can switch chambers without going outside. Two chambers will have a ventilation slot right at the roof . This house is constructed with light materials
using cedar fence boards and white pine sides. It will not be painted except for the white wood sides. They will be white
because I have some left over white.

Ready for the roof. This is not a small bat house. About 33 inches tall and 25 inches wide.
The roof will be wood plus a larger metal covering soon as I get back in the mood to work again.
I will weigh this house , but it is very light compared to others I have made. i hope the bats like it.

That is a nice box Frank! It should fill up fast next year! I'm anxious to see how the cedar fence boards work as baffles.........I'm guessing they will be just about right for roughness.........I like the ventilation design too!
